Abstract

Abstract art allows me to more freely experiment and explore than any other form of physical art. It allows me to play with color, texture and form without limitation. I can put to canvas every thought and feeling. Every imagined visual concept without bounds. My art, here, is an interpretation of my experiences in both this waking world and my dreams.

I typically work on a series of paintings using a similar style and/or themes. That’s how I grouped them, here. But I also do some one-off experimental pieces when the inspiration hits me…..

Deep Texture

In most of my abstract work, texture is a key component. I love adding layers and depth. I enjoy playing with mediums to mi into the paint or directly on the canvas to get these different surface form.

Burst series

In the Burst series of paintings, I explore the energy the emanates outward from within. I play with color and employ two layers of smoothed texture on gallery profile canvases.
